This document explains how this static website uses browser storage, what categories exist, and how you can change your mind. In New Zealand, storing personal information (including identifiers tied to analytics) must meet the Privacy Act 2020; where overseas visitors are affected, comparable GDPR concepts may also apply.
1. What technologies we use
Strictly necessary data is stored in localStorage on your device to remember consent choices and to keep the contact form’s validation state reliable. Optional analytics or marketing toggles are also written to localStorage when you choose them. We do not set server-readable HTTP cookies on this static deployment unless your hosting provider injects them outside our control.
2. Categories and purposes
- Strictly necessary: stores a consent flag and preference JSON so the banner does not reappear endlessly and so essential UI functions remain predictable.
- Analytics: reserved for lightweight, privacy-preserving measurement scripts that may be enabled in future releases. When inactive, no analytics payloads fire.
- Marketing: reserved for optional remarketing tags. When disabled, no marketing identifiers are created by our bundle.
3. Retention
localStorage entries persist until you clear site data in your browser or until you overwrite them via the Cookie Settings panel. We recommend revisiting preferences annually.
4. International transfers
Because processing occurs on your device, transfers are limited to whichever jurisdiction you browse from. If we later embed third-party tools hosted overseas, we will update this policy and, where required, rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.
5. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, or objection regarding personal data we hold about you. Erasure of stored consent data can be performed locally by clearing site storage; for server-held copies created after you email us, contact the address above.
6. Updates
We revise this policy when our stack changes. Material updates receive a new effective date below.
Effective date: 11 May 2026.
